It's time to wake up
At a time when all the Lebanese are debating their mundane small details, hizballa is minding its own business.
We talk about disarming them, when they are accumulating more weapons.
We talk about "containing" them, when they seem to be expanding day by day. Now they have more land, even their own phone network.
We talk about electing a president according to the current rules and regulations, when they call for a radical change in our electoral law.
We get into televised debates, they go into secretive talks and swaps with Israel.
It's time for us to wake up. Maybe not, we are living in another dimension (called outer space).

I don't know _z, sometimes I realize, I, like other people, spend more time complaining than acting on it. A conversation that I am sure you've had before. I know, myself, that inshalla when I go back few years from now, I won't just talk.
any thoughts on what to do when you are on this side of the world, immersed with your work?

I didn't mean what are YOU going to do about it. I meant that this is the situation back home, and everybody is aware about what is happening but there is nothing you can do about it, save another civil war.
I appreciate your determination on trying to mend things up when you go back. I would love to do the same, but for the time being all you can do is write, and vent.
