I want to be selfish for once. This space is about me. I can talk and think, uninterrupted. Might be of relevance... or maybe not.

Hypocrisy

This is slightly confusing to me, to say the least. And maybe someone can help me figure it out.

If I were to teach a kid about hypocrisy, there is no better example than Nasralla.

For years and years, he disregarded the existence of a nation or a government. He built his own state, within a state. Him, and Mr.Berri, mislead the people in the South. Instead of education and construction, they invested in wars and weapons. Go and ask Berri about the funds that were destined to the reconstruction of the South.

Recently Nasralla decided to join the government. It was obvious that he is only used to an autocracy. Well, that is not the case when there are many players. Decisions are not one sided, whether it is war, reconstruction or economy.

The swiftness and rapidity with which they acknowledged that the truck filled with weapons was theirs was phenomenal, really. They knew that they were the prime suspects. But to ask for it back, this is hilarious, shocking.
They resigned from the current government and called it unconstitutional. Fine. But they cannot now say that this same "illegitimate" government allowed them to arm and fight. Isn't there an obvious contradiction? You cannot embrace one side and reject the other.

Tayyar website, great in making up stories, and quoting journals such as Al-akhbar, ASS-afir and addyar hardly talked about this incident, phenomenal. They are busy talking about Michel Platini and Miriam Fares on MTV Europe.

Elias el Murr kept a low profile in the recent turmoil, avoiding major confrontation with either sides. He even distanced himself from his father (good for him). His stances and governmental decisions are pretty smart: "if Israel carries out another violation, we will use these weapons to confront it". Fighting fire with fire.

HYPOCRISY, Mr.Nasralla.

And happy Mar Maroun, although I am sure He is not happy.

Eto, sometimes I feel the Army is the last one to have weapons in Lebanon, ironically.
